A Niffty Update
Just thought I'd update with PC WORLD's 30 THINGS YOU DIDN'T KNOW YOU COULD DO ON THE INTERNET
Well actually, I'm not going to put up all 30, but still quite a few. Why you ask? I really don't know. Probably so that I never forget these sites since this copy of PC world is probably going to lose itself within the stacks of magazines in my room. So enjoy! btw, all headers are links

GoogleX Interface
Not sure if you remember when google had a bunch of goodies. um....like the Mac OS interfaces. It's really quite handy, but removed because of Apple's b*tching.
Find Uncle Sam's Hidden Files, find 'em here and here too!
It's not really the classified stuff, but hard to find declassified stuff and missing gov't page from web sites due to security reasons. so, could be interesting to check out - if you're into that stuff.
Free Online Tech Help
Post up you question and wait for a response, or search other threads. In anycase, it's not as fast as live help, but less frustrating and probably more helpful.
Desktop Widgets. Here and here too
These are just some niffty ways to increase your desktop interactive pleasures. They add weird widgets to your desktop, like the HAL9000 eye with voice to a stock ticker. Too bad its not free...
WEB APIs
above is just one of many sites that piggy backs off of other program interfaces to create something new and interesting. many sites encourage you(us) to do the same. One of the few times "hacking" is encouraged.
liveplasma.com uses amazon's API for music and artist searches (on a map!).
There's a few more, but I don't feel like putting them...
So if you feel like it, mess around with it.

Exactly what it says. compare your area's cell plans.
Follow Your Money
Ever get one of those bills with a web address on it? Well it's actually to track where that bill ends up! But you'll have to log onto the site for that to work (which is why they write the site on the bill - obviously). Very interesting, no?
Unmask Spoofed Web Sites <--nice
This applet displays the real domain name of the site in your browser toolbar, regardless of what the address window says.
