Springboard 11 - Memorable

May 25, 2008 00:43

Write about your most memorable experience with your team or partner.

I don't have a partner anymore.

And my team...well, they're my team. Ryan, Cole, Theresa...all very good cops, but we don't have the kind of stories that a wide audience would find interesting. Working in Commercial Crimes doesn't lend itself to ink unless something really expensive gets stolen from someone really famous.

My partner and I used to sit around and talk about our days at the academy. She was going through basic training when I was getting my sergeant's stripes. Those were always good times and there were always good stories. One of them, I still can't get over.

On OC day she actually suffered heatstroke. She collapsed during later PT and had to be taken to the hospital. Two days later, she was back for morning report and never said a word about it except to hand the sergeant her doctor's clearance.

I could never imagine doing anything like that...one of the things that youth serves, I guess. But I'm proud of her -- that sounds exactly like her.
