So my dads home.
it was seriously.. the most amazing thing.
we got there and gathered in a huge room full of 100's of people waiting for their loved ones. KFYI & KTAR radio were there, channel 12, 15, & 3 were there as well. while we were waiting we got interviewed by both radio stations and 2 news stations... finally, they arrived. their buses were escorted by police men & fire trucks, sirens on. it was a big to-do. the soldiers had to get into formation, so they all filed in to the room and everyone was screaming and crying & wow it was just so cool. finally they were in formation. the capton yelled "I only have one thing to say to you.... DISSMISSED!!" and everyone went crazy trying to find their family. everywhere you looked was people crying. there was no way to hold it in. it had been such a long time and we were all so happy just to see them. my family ran to my dad and we all hugged and cried and hugged somemore. meanwhile, the we were being recorded by channel 12 i think. or channel 15? i forget. it was pretty awesome. i waited so long for this day and it finally came. i.. i cant even explain how great it is to have him back. it seems so unreal still. walking downstairs and seeing him there.. idk.. it feels like i dont know him anymore. its weird. but its still a great thing. its incredible that not one soldier got injured or killed. i take that back, one broke a finger i think? but thats about it. ahh im just so happy. heres what went on the radio..

Just in time for Christmas, nearly 200 Arizona National Guard soldiers returned today from Iraq, Kuwait and Qatar.
Wearing a shirt reading "Some super heroes wear capes, hers wears cammo," Julie Jones of Chandler saw her husband for the first time in 15 months.
"Just so much excitement."
First Sergeant Lyle Jones. "Oh, I'm so happy to be home. You have no idea how happy I am to be home." After spending nearly a year and a half in the Middle East, Jones is looking forward to the comforts of home. "You know, just get home to my house. Sit in my chair. Sleep in my bed tonight."
Jones' daughter, Maegan, says this is the best Christmas present she could hope for. "I'm my daddy's big girl."
i couldnt find the one that went on KFYI, oh well.
heres a selection from the east valley tribune.
First Sgt. Lyle Jones, 41, of Chandler said it was time to put his law degree to work. He graduated from Arizona State University’s College of Law in May 2004, only to be called to duty a few months after.
"I’m going to take the bar exam somewhere and go into private practice, I hope," said Jones, escorted by his parents, wife and three children.
"In other words," said his mother, Nava, "he’s going to look for a job."
