School rant!
I'm a Radiography student. Only 30 applicants are selected each year to be in this program. You have to have high grades, high scores on the A2, and be able to perform a list of essential functions.
So how is it that people get in who don't even do anything?! The guy that sits beside me in class is lazy. He does nothing at all but browse the web for funny/nerdy stuff to look at. I've heard that at clinicals, he sits on his ass all day and has to be pretty much begged to do something productive.
Oh, and he has BO issues, as well.
This semester, one of my teachers started having a game day, where we play Jeopardy to see how much we learned from the previous lecture. This guy takes it upon himself to stand in front and take score. Okay, I can deal with that. Just get the hell outta the way so I can read the freaking questions.
But please, stop with your stupid sound effects. It's annoying, loud, and really not as cute as you think it is. Also, stop clearing the buzzer! More than once, my group buzzed in first, only to be cleared out and another group got the question. So stupid.
And then there's the know-it-all who really knows nothing at all. He was in the program two years ago and failed a class. Now he's back and acting like he's the damn teacher! And nine times out ten, he's wrong about the "facts" he spouts. He's rather lazy, as well. I had clinicals with him for a few days and he sat around most of the time.
Maybe I'm being really harsh, but if you're not going to do the work to be good at this, why even try to get into the program to begin with? There's other people out there that would love to have your spot. (The first guy I ranted about actually has a degree, but couldn't find work. Maaaybe because you're an ass. Just sayin'.)
