*insert much woe about cricket here* I hate all Poms. *frets*

So, all the netball is over for the winter season - day season, night season, Premier League, everything. I don't know what I'm going to do with myself until the summer season starts in October. Because summer season will be only one game per week instead of three plus training, I've been thinking I should play a different sport as well as netball over summer to try to keep what little fitness I have. Clare and I are going to go for walks, but I really prefer sport to just walking because walking is dull. Even though we'll oh-so-coincidentally start and finish our walk at the Merthyr Bowls Club, where there just happens to be beer and food. So I've been considering playing tennis with friends once a week or finding a women's cricket team. I can't really think of much that I'd be good at since netball is the only sport I've ever really played, but at least I know I like playing tennis and cricket, even if I'm bloody hopeless at them. Perhaps I can even get my dad to hire a tennis court with me, although he'll totally flog me. He was a very good tennis player when he was my age, and even though that was some time ago his skills still shit all over mine.

Haven't done anything interesting lately. Went to an afternoon tea for umpires and coaches on Sunday, which was quite nice. Sat around drinking and eating and talking about netball, which was made different from every other day by amazingly being at someone else's house. The lady who hosted it is the mother of one of the girls in my day team. They have a dog called Heidi, she's so adorable. She's a runt Keeshond with alopecia but she's so friendly and happy that you can't help but love her, even though she looks like her parents were a Chinese Crested and a tea cosy.

Have two netball club breakups this weekend, neither of which I can really get out of. The Blue Jays one is 10am-1pm on Sunday, followed by the Ridgettes one from 1pm-3pm. I don't know why both clubs decided to have their breakups on Fathers' Day. It wouldn't be a problem if I weren't a coach for Blue Jays and a Ridgettes team captain, but being vaguely official means it's bad form not to show up. No idea when I'm going to see my father though. Might invite him out for dinner or something, that could work.
