So I've been doing a lot of nothing since I moved back to the land of Haligonia. I've been exercising off and on in order to hopefully lose a significant portion of the weight I put on towards the end of grad school. I even resorted to a small project in the back yard in order to give me some exercise!
Yesterday (Tuesday) I got back from being on my first camping trip to Kejimkujik, aka the annual Kejipalooza. I had a blast with
internecine,
thatcandygirl,
jamjamredman,
unoriginalams and fiancée Jeff,
snowwalker,
boomchica, and many others who I'd only met for the first time. Although the weather was less than desirable up until Monday, I still enjoyed the hell out of the whole thing. Next month some of us are going to go back and do an overnght backwoods hike, which I'm totally looking forward to.
I just got a new cell phone last week, since my last one had a loose connection or something and would randomly drop calls. It also had a few nice cracks in the external LCD screen that got on my nerves. It got replaced with a shiny new
Motorola V551 that does pretty much everything that the last one (a
Motorola V220)did, with the addition of Bluetooth connectability. I have to say, it's pretty sweet being able to manipulate my phone when it's a couple of rooms away or still in my pocket.
We have a bit of an ant problem in the yard here, so I stopped in at Canadian Tire to see what they had for bringing about their demise. In among the rest of the pest control products, I found
this.
I'm fairly certain that that's a scorpion in the picture on the left there. I think if your home is being invaded by fucking scorpions, a trip to Canadian Tire is probably not a drastic enough move.
