Microprinter

Today, I collected a thermal till receipt printer that I got from eBay. It's a Citizen model CBM 1000, with the serial interface option fitted (although the eBay listing said it was parallel). I should have had the presence of mind to order some thermal paper rolls for it, too (it takes either 80mm or 58mm wide rolls). I probably won't have time to do much with it until after the Maker Faire, but there are some interesting ideas on the web for using these microprinters.

UPDATE:
I dozed off this afternoon (with a bit of a cold) and dreamed that I was back in my parents house in Colchester. Then, I dreamed about a roll of thermal paper for an HP calculator printer that was in a certain box of junk. I awoke, went into the spare bedroom here and started digging down to that box. Sure enough, it contained a roll of paper, which turns out to be blue thermal paper, 57mm wide. I can test the thermal printer!

PS. aminorjourney and k81ng just glided in with the Plug-In Prius in full electric mode!
