(no subject)
So I'm in DC now. Dad is at work and Melissa is visiting her college roommate, and I really didn't feel like walking around in the cold that much.
Got to the airport without too much trouble. It was starting to snow and the road was slick in some places, but it was otherwise okay. Talked with Aunt about Uncle1. There's more I want/need to say about it but I can't, not now. Maybe when I get back and I can get all my thoughts collected. Also, I need to get over my fear of being emotionally honest.
Bought Rolling Stone's Best of the Decade issue. Am unsure if I totally agree with their choices. Crazy as the number 1 song? Really? Really?
Looked through the crappy book selection. Was even crappier than usual. Bought Cormac McCarthy's The Road even though I've read it. It was my favorite book I read last year though, so eh, might as well.
My flight was good, except they did not give me my cookie. I am going to write them a scathing email when I return. Best care in the air my ass. On the the other hand, no one sat next to me.
Oh and I'm pretty damn sure I went to high school with one of the attendants.
After M picked me up we went and got Dad, then we went to a Lebanese restaurant across from his work. It was very yummy, though I wish I had gotten the Falafel appetizer instead of the sandwich. Did I mention that our relationship is based on a mutual love for ethnic cuisine and museums? I'm really just here so he has someone to try stuff with. I am okay with this.
And that leads us to now. I was contemplating going for a walk, but my fingers and toes are still cold. My ears are still hurting too, even though I've popped them. Bleh.
Tomorrow I am actually going to go do stuff. Really.
