And yet, I've still not read HP7.

I'm on Day 4 of my 4-day stretch of 13-16 hour days. Tonight's going to be the doozy, I'm working from at 4ps from 6 until probably about 2:30. I doubt I'll get out any later than that. The real question is, can I maintain focus and deal with customers in a manner that gets me good tips? Or am I just going to fall apart. I've got coffee and water right now.

This morning for breakfast I had my first bagel in weeks. I just haven't been in the mood, and the last one I had sat in my gut as soon as I swallowed it. Didn't seem all that worth the carbs and calories if I don't get any pleasure out of the meal. However, today's concoction-everything bagel with light cream cheese, tomato, and red onion-tasted and settled perfectly. Just need to not get them on a daily basis.

I'm feeling lukewarm towards North and South (Elizabeth Gaskell, 1854). I don't find myself driven to get to that next break, that next commute, to read. I've found when I'm not too engaged in my reading material, I do a lot of crosswords.

So, last night when I got home after *mumbleAtomicmumble* my CCDA match, I picked up Arms of Nemesis (Stephen Saylor, 1992), the second in the Gordianus the Finder series. I really can't get through more than a few pages of North and South at a time, and I miss having a book that pulls me in with language and story, not letting me go until something interrupts. With N&S, I find myself wandering after every chapter; Nemesis is dragging me along in its wake, and I really did miss being so engaged.

As much as I can read "meaningful" or difficult books sometimes, and I like to for the sake of variety, my real love lies in action, adventure, and plot-oriented writing.
