Really, really strange that you posted X-Files icons and I JUST got into X-Files (Finished up the second season the other day).
As always, your icons are gorgeous and I always appreciate you allowing emotion to be the centerpiece of your icons; of course, I have to grab at least four. :)
And, I hear that season six is AMAZING. (The friend that got me into X-Files finished the sixth season last week and couldn't stop raving about it.)
OH MAN I AM SO JEALOUS. I wish I could do it all again! DO YOU LOVE IT?
Aw, thank you. ♥ The close-ups of her mouth and eyes were kind of like cheating, though, because they actually *do* those close-ups in the episode. :)
IT IS. Season 6 was my absolute favorite. And Fight The Future leads into it. Let me just tell you now, I am not a very emotional person, but the emotions I had while watching FTF were unlike any other movie/TV experience I've ever had. I went through the series really quickly and man, that movie was a complete emotional roller coaster for me. And then the amazingness of season 6 is capped off by Biogenesis/The Sixth Extinction which is beautiful and crazy and awesome. YOU WILL BE IMPRESSED.
I LOVE IT SO HARD. WTH WITH MISSING OUT ON SCULLY AND MULDER FOR ALL THOSE YEARS, SELF! I was really surprised at how much I liked the characters (Namely, Mulder and Scully) before I even began liking the episodes early on in the first season. Of course, the upside of discovering X-Files now is that I can appreciate it way more than I would have been able to, as a child. The friend who introduced me to the series was also kind enough to lend me the first season DVDs before I grew my fan wings (lol) and bought the second season at Costco because I needed it now/then! He definitely helped with watching episodes with me and it was really great getting into a kick ass series with a kick ass person

LSAKJFLAKSJFA NO I TOTALLY DID THE SAME THING. Because I only got into it last January. And I am SO insanely attracted to strong female characters. Scully is without a doubt my favorite television character that I've ever seen/watched. And the relationship stuff is truly epic. And epic as in ACTUALLY epic, not epic in the way that we fangirls always seem to use it. A friend on my flist here and I got into the show at the same time, and incidentally got much closer through our X-Files journey. And that was one of the best things about getting into the show for me, so I'm really excited for you that you have someone to talk about it with. Because that really is insanely rewarding, with any TV show

I'm getting into the habit of starting a new series every summer; I'm so glad that this year's is X-Files! And I really, really admire how brave Scully is. I can get spooked easily when I'm home alone as it gets darker, and seeing her grab her gun and check out the noise encourages me to suck it up, as pathetic as that may sound. Scully living alone and getting abducted several times and still working despite the risks is grade A, bad ass woman in my book. Total love for strong female characters!
I'm so glad that you could share your X-Files experience with a friend too! I still need to find a more fandom familiar friend to talk X-Files with but I'm still really appreciative of having at least one friend that can talk with me about the series.
Oh, Mulder and Scully. You're right: what they have is epic. They're independent, strong, able to trust one another, logical as hell and just gorgeous people. Sure, I want to see how the mythology episodes turn out but their relationship is just as interesting to watch. <3

Yeah, I think I totally missed the Rome fandom or something when I got into Rome last summer. I'd like to dip my toes in it but the fandom seems a little cold and stagnant. :(
And, my attempts to get other people to watch Rome haven't fared too well; I seriously need to find someone I can talk Rome politics and characterization with.
i dont mean to butt in, but.... i too am SO jealous you are just starting to get into the best show ever. i grew up on the show [the show started when i was 8 & watched it when it started bc my dad loved it] & every time i watch it, i wish i was watching it for the first time. it has a little place in my heart.
season six is probably my favorite season, too. =]
I'm jealous that you can think of the X-Files fondly with your childhood; I had basically associated X-Files with freaky things I didn't need to see or know about and the theme gave me the creeps (It was actually uncomfortable for me to watch the opening credits during the first season so I always fast forwarded through it; I scan to the next chapter now because I'm impatient lol :<). And aw @ you and your dad getting into X-Files together.
My expectations of season six may be unreasonably high now. Haha.
