081 - Sam is the master of timing

Right, then, back to the business of babysitting my own pet crook. The lot of you better not've gotten into any mischief while I was out, 'cause the Sheriff's back and he will uphold the law on this ruddy boat.

FOR POSTERITY, as I've finally fleshed out his mirror background more. Basically, when Sam went a bit bonkers during the Tony Crane fiasco, his turning point in the mirror universe was that he just sort of gave up on his convictions and never really recovered his integrity. He just went gung-ho in living up to the 1970s cop 'role,' pushing himself deeper and deeper into a fantasy, while Gene sort of... Sam'd up to compensate for his DI's increasing recklessness. Sam decided that he didn't want to wake up anymore, and he gave up on trying to change the world or his situation, instead deciding that 1973 was HIS fantasy world, and he could do what he wanted. He made the deal with the Admiral to never wake up from his coma. So, deep down inside, he's still... the Sam Tyler we all know and love]
