That would do my head in - I don't mind music, but thumping bass vibrations would drive me spare. No wonder you want out, seriously.
Have fun with your satnav. Mine is called Karen - or more commonly "that cow, Karen" as she delights in sending me in odd directions. No word of a lie, once she directed me into a cul de sac then calmly advised me to perform a u-turn when possible. Seriously that cow Karen is messing with my mind.
I do find, though, that reliance on my GPS means that I lose a sense of place, of where I actually am. To counter that I like to get my refidex out before I go anywhere new, and trace the journey on the actual map first, making notes of any landmarks along the way. And that way, if that cow Karen decides to sulk I at least have a rough idea of where I am.
She certainly took me on the scenic route through the UK on a couple of occasions, including one trip down the narrowest of country lanes to a rather popular surfing beach (in Devon, I think we were). On the return trip I followed the road signs and found a perfectly good two-lane road back into town. Ah well, life is never dull with Karen in the car!
