Chanderi, 2007, film recon
I'm just barely starting to sort through
all the photos and data we captured.
My friend N~ manned the camera most of the time.
She is a staff photographer for Hindustan Times
and somehow managed a week off from the paper
to go with me to Chanderi.
Here are a couple basic shots:
A simple handloom setup in the home of Chanderi weaver Ram Khissan.
A complicated hand loom setup with jacquard
in the home of Mukeet Raja, one of the highest skilled weavers of Chanderi.

The gossamer quality, a finished example
of some of Chanderi's most highly skilled weaving.
