Chaiyya Chaiyya
Have you ever made a list of "Ten things I want to do before I die"? Well, neither have I...
Anyway, I have made constant revising mental lists like that, "Thing I totally long to do". There are things that always end up on my lists. And on this trip to India I knocked of TWO of the all time biggies. One of them I did on my third day in Bombay and I still have to post photos of (I'm still digesting the experience). The second was, "Ride the Blue Mountain Railroad through the Nigiri Hills of Tamil Nadu".
And I did it, on January 30th of 2006. Can you tell by this picture that I was feeling the effects of triumph?
Why? Because this steam train is a big part of my own personal ajenda/journey for India, my game plan. Namely Hindi movies, Bollywood movies. Have you ever seen Shahrukh Khan dancing on top of a train to the song Chaiyya Chaiyya in the movie "Dil Se.."? Well they shot that on this train, the Blue Mountain Railroad. This was my big Bollywood moment kids! And I got a good story to go along with it. I'll tell ya'll next time, but this time a few teaser pics (like the trailer to a movie).
