Halebid

Then we went to the second great Hoysala temple at Halebid called the Hoysaleswara Temple, built around the 12th century. It could be called a sister temple to the one at Belur I've been posting on the past week. Lots of times they are mentioned in the same sentence.

By the end of that excursion I was starting to get Hoysala-ed out. Like your 8th hour walking through the Louvre the 'culture' starts to get overwhelming. One can only take soooo much culture... Yes I was starting to get cultured out.

Our next destination was a nature reserve across the southern tip of Karnataka into the great Nilgiri hills and the state of Tamil Nadu. We were out to see wild tigers and elephants and T-Bone had pre-booked lodging in a tree-house bungaloo at a game park in Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary! On the way we stopped in Mysore to stock up on provisions (well our "provisions" generally consist of chocolate, bananas, oranges, and Maria crackers) and secure some form transportation to get us there.
