It has been three years since I have done one of these! However, I continue to accumulate old pictures so I can do this. Often getting the modern view not easily accessible, but this one I managed to photograph to-day! You will note that I did not get the angle just right: should have stood to the left a bit!

This is Salem, Oregon at 302 State Street. The original was taken around 1887 or so and is from a stereo view (the right side image). The card mysteriously says this is a principal street in Salem. However, it is 302 State Street which is the present location for a U.S. Bank branch. The modern picture spans a wider part of the intersection with ( Read more... )
