Here are some recent Facebook comments I have made:
* The attitude of school districts has been paradoxically uncaring toward historic buildings it owns. You would think school systems would care about history if it is a subject they teach! Just look at so many public school websites and they have few references to history. However, the laws regarding tax levies tend to make school boards and administrators focus on erasure and new construction.
* In a democracy voters should never worship politicians, just support the right person to do the things that need doing. If the things don't get done and there is someone who appears to be prepared to do the job correctly, then voters should then support that candidate.
* (continuing advice on how to get a cabinet of drawers up a stairwell) ...and don't forget to remove the drawers first!
* (replying to request of someone who discovered a mosaic concrete thing under grass and dirt in the back yard of her home) Nothing so interesting, but found what appears to be an old concrete skirting or patio under a few inches of dirt. I have always wondered how it was meant to be used
* (regarding comment that if human DNA was changed that after death would not be granted ever lasting life) Where does it say Jesus only accepts humans? Seems any sentient life form that makes the choice should qualify.
* (regarding work to remove an old refrigerator from a house) This is why, when I bought my house, a condition for the seller was removal of the freezer from the basement. Maybe it worked, maybe it didn't, but I didn't see myself moving that thing out when it didn't work. It was one of my best solo decisions!
* (regarding money spent on poltical advertising) If we brought back the Fairness Doctrine and educated people how to think, analyze and be skeptical, all of the money spent on adverts would be a complete waste.
