The Land Between the Trees is ready for more staging!
Took a couple of hours yesterday from 6 to 8 p.m. and then to-day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., but I have freed the area of my wheel barrow and invasive black berry plants.
I can now move in bricks from the tetherball court and similar masonry and rock items.
Also I can look seriously at a back fence again.
This evening I hope to do some of the brick moving and run the weed wacker again.
The area I seeded is showing grass growth! I am trying to stay off of it, but not watering it. If it is going to survive it needs to work with what is there.
Working under the trees I am seriously thinking of sawing off the lower limbs: parts have died already and the other parts are just in the way of everything.
LBT will eventually be where I hope to put a small shed, but my first shed will be next to the house where all my larger garden tools are to-day. The 2nd shed will be a while from now...after the 2nd dry well and all fencing is complete.
I have been trying to remove dandelion and other broadleaf weeds in the back yard, but it is a monumental task. I am trying to stay ahead on that task on the park strip. Yesterday I pulled everything I could find but to-day found 3 more to pull.
I will also need to look at cutting black berry and grape plants at the northeast corner.
Allergies flared up briefly. I came in and blew my nose and grabbed more facial tissue, but didn't need them. I adjusted or at least did not encounter the correct combination of allergens again.
The bark placement in the back yard was a good move: still looks nice. Some blackberries came in under one bush. I pulled them. It is much easier to keep up if I check regularly and the area is not completely choked up with a variety of weeds.
