I am a little down to-day.
I got back from the nurse station at Kaiser Permanente (34, basement level, Kaiser East Interstate) ok. They were so concerned with my blood pressure which was 132/75, which is better than the 135/85 I have been getting myself at home. According to my doctor and Christian, the nurse, this is okay for someone with my other vital statistics.
The primary reason for going there was to get the 2nd and last Shingles vaccine.
Once home I did a little on my computer, left the room to go downstairs to use the half-bathroom, and see that the nativity set was pulled down off the table by the cats. The horn points on the ox were broken and the donkey's ear repair was undone. All of the figures were on the dining room floor.
To prevent this from happening again, Marisa advised we put the set on top of cabinet where the cats can't easily get to it and where we can't see it easily. Doing that meant moving stuff off the top...and in so doing a set of coasters fell to one side of the cabinet. Marisa and I worked to get it out, but my shoulder was getting sore (the one which got the jab). Eventually we managed to get everything back and I assembled the undamaged part of the nativity set in one corner of the top of the cabinet, the things that used to be there on Mom's table over the return air vent now, not next to the windows in the dining room.
I put the broken figures with the pieces in a tray and put those in our room. To-morrow I hope to buy some Gorilla wood glue and see if I can repair them.
Meanwhile my shoulder pain is worse so I lay down on our bed. I can't roll over because of the shoulder so have to stay flat, so can't take a nap. Meanwhile the tinnitus also doesn't help.
I finally relax enough and don't feel the pain as much. I am more hungry than in pain or in need of rest.
I had used up all the spaghetti yesterday, so had to fix a sandwich with cashews, apple and orange. Watched Stargate: Atlantis to distract me. I tried to not use my left arm.
The phone rings. Kaiser wants me to come in to its blood pressure center to get my BP. "Why?" I asked, "I just got my BP to-day and it was not elevated." She said I should bring in my BP machine to be calibrated. I was ok with that and she was about to try to schedule a time, then asked me if I wanted to do this. I decided this whole thing was overkill and said "No, I think we are fine."
Meanwhile I thought about the truck this morning. It was still damp. I read up on it and learned that vehicles trap moisture in then dirty areas attract the moisture and mold spores. The real problem is too much humidity. Air circulation helps, but if you lock up the cab for weeks, as I have done, I simply provided the best environment for mold. It is not uncommon. In fact, I have been lucky I have never seen this before now.
I may now drive the truck around enough to prevent this, but what I really want is to remove the humidity. That is what fogs up the windows or causes condensation: mold or no mold.
Turns out there are dessicants to help do this. I was really hoping for a solar powered dehumidifier which did not need refilling, but no such thing. So I ordered bags of desicants to get dehumidification underway.
What I will probably do is get the renewable dessicant that absorbs the moisture but you can dry it out in a microwave oven and then use again.
I was thinking about fixing dinner and cleaning the upstairs cat litter box to-day, but the shoulder sort of nixes that idea. To-morrow it should be fine...then I go to the Red Cross at Lloyd Center to get my blood drawn. Maybe I can cook something Thursday night, fix and clean stuff and start making things better again. Right now it feels more like pain, degradation, destruction, weariing out, dieing.
