Rebirth

Somehow, this morning, I feel re-born.

* My truck is back to normal. Mechanics at Madison Automotive found the "coil-pack" as the culprit in my truck stalling out, replaced it, and it is running fine now. Since replacement only stalled out once and probably because I let the clutch out in gear (I was nervous at the time because of a run-in with some goofy driver who became confrontational).
* Our DVD's and Blurays now have additional storage, so no untoward stacks. The new bookcase looks nice.
* I vacuumed the rest of the stairs, the 2nd floor hallway and part of our bedroom. The bedroom is more organized and the bureau surface is mostly open again. MOre to do, but under control.
* Office/record library...less cluttered, turntable accessible again. More to do, but use-able.
* Dishes and flatware cleaned and counter surfaces, dining table free from clutter again. There are pots, pans, measuring cups, plastic containers to wash...so more to do, as always, but under control.

So, there is more to be done, but functionality is back and things are cleaner...and now plan to make incremental progress and no regression!

On the medical front, things are better as well! The best news is that my cholesterol is now at 140 mg/dL which is within the normal range for the first time in a while. Triglycerides at 81 mg/dL, at the mid-point of the normal range of 30-150. I can only put these changes on the fact that I have limited my fruit juice intake quite a bit, drinking only selzer water cut with regular water during evening meals (or not drinking at all). I still drink whole fruit juice while eating lunch at work.

I am still pre-diabetes, but the numbers look stable and put me in the "well-controlled" category.

The only value to question is the ALT, a liver enzyme, which is 60 U/L and the normal range is 10-35. Still, it is much lower than it once was...and appears to track with my weight, which is 169 pounds with socks and underwear: probably could shed up to 9 pounds by doing more work outside.

So my plan will be to continue to chip away at cleaning the house...and once we know that is stable, clean-up the basement...then when it gets warmer, work the outside by continuing normal lawn and weed work, clean gutters, paint needed areas then special (I hope) one time projects:

[ ] fix the driveway dip.
[ ] fix the concrete stairs.
[ ] put up corner pickets.
[ ] weed, paper and mulch cover area by corner (partly temporary).
[ ] put in front posts, rails, pickets, paint.
[ ] put in side posts, rails, pickets, paint.
[ ] properly put in stones next to drive way.
[ ] put in permanent front walkway.
[ ] add transitional paving and redo garbage area pavers.
[ ] dig out small evergreen and replant.
[ ] finish circle.
[ ] buy pavers and do "head" transition to Chimney Memorial Path.
[ ] finish Chimney Memorial Path.
