Mission et Michelle

Marisa and I successfully completed our first inter-modal transportation day while on vacation in the San Francisco Bay area.

* drove to the Millbrae Station for BART (end of line these days).
* parked and paid for it $3 cash only.
* bought clipper cards which:
-- record where you start on BART, then charge you when you get off...so the farther you go, the greater the charge.
-- admit you to any Muni bus or light rail vehicle: $2.75 per entry.
* boarded BART and got off successfully at 16th and Mission as planned.
* orientation difficult at first when at street level, but once I figured it out easily found the bus 22 stop and didn't wait too long.
* signaled for the next, Dolores Street stop correctly.
* Marisa and I got off. She waited while I took at the photos I needed, then we waited for bus 22 going back to the station.
* easily returned and got on and off BART.
* at the Embarcadero Station went up one flight and oriented ourselves, then got on the Muni Metro platform, boarded the next N-Judah Metro light rail train.
* we got off at the stop with Delancey Street restaurant right there across the street!
* We had a few minutes, so I gladly took pictures of the Bay Bridge and area along the wharf.
* At Delancey Street we met and then sat outside with Michelle, Marisa's friend at Sunday School during their elementary school years. I was struck by how they paired with each other so well, even after being separated by life's experiences.
* Lunch was excellent, with roasted tomato soup, store made ginger beer, unique sweet/savory cauliflower and a great grilled portobello mushroom vegetarian sandwich.
* The restaurant inside was appointed with a very nice and varied selection of lithographs.
* The wait staff was very nice: I went a little higher than normal on my tip.
* By 2 p.m. fatigue had set in, so we went back to the hotel, recharged our clipper cards (now with $15 left each).
* On the way back I ducked our car into a fire parking position so I could take a picture through the window (unfortunately--reflections) of the Millbrae theatre sign sans theatre.

So, I have one more photo matched, making nine!
