To-day with mostly perfect weather (last hour a bit windy and cool, otherwise it would have been perfect), I managed to do the most important things needed to prepare for the drive way work. Everything else is gravy. I spent nine hours total with a later start and a two hour break.
I moved the two remaining concrete post cylinders, moved all the rocks and bricks out of the circle including the pebble mound (I put the pebbles into plastic bags which used to hold river rock: I had just enough bags).
I weeded the area around the Irises and the small evergreen, which by the way, is doing well and showing growth. The blocks were completed for the circle and I laid used landscape fabric on the open part of the circle. Eventually I want to transplant the tree and the Irises, but seems criminal to do that right now.
Rethinking planting a tree between the garbage area and the tetherball court. The roots could be a problem for the French Drain. So re-thinking the plants.
Still intent on the hardscape work. I fixed the paving around the circle and started to complete the path to join with the back driveway. Slow work hacking through the sod and preparing bricks I have been taking from the brick junkyard on the front south "walkway". I will run out of easily clean-able whole bricks very soon. To use the other bricks I will need to saw off the cement.
To-morrow I will return to more on this after I install a new passenger side rearview mirror on the Focus, tame the lawns and do some weeding. Yes, I would like to move the wood and finish the path (carting away more dirt to Byron Hill), but I will run out of time. So my main goal is to transplant those plants from the driveway area into Marvin's Garden and flatten Byron Hill so it doesn't look so formidable.
If I have the time and energy after all of that, then will cart excess dirt from the path extension, prepare the new wood area, move the wood and then scupt the land to the pathway.
Tammy's new boyfriend ran down the sidewalk shouting back to Tammy, so I focused on him. "Hi Neighbor, looking good!" I thanked him.
When I get most of the Northside done I think I am going to move the staging area to the Southside so I can finish the landscaping, hardscaping and planting and make it look nice. The staging area is "junky."
