I seem to be slowing down. However, I am getting closer to finishing the trench.
The blockage area where there were several roots has been completely carved out. It is not as deep as it should be in places, so I need to get a constant 9 inches everywhere and form the first terrace.
Won't do it today, however. I am just tired of it, and my right shoulder is complaining.
Didn't do as much as I would have liked today: we went to breakfast and then to the Goodwill, which took us past noon.
I may have done about 3 hours of work and hauled away several wheelbarrows of dirt. Certainly I sweated a great deal as most of my time was with the sun at my back (this comes with doing the work in the afternoon).
My intent was to have lunch (at about 4:30 p.m), use my computer a bit and wait for the sun to go down, then resume around 6:30 p.m. However, my shoulder complained and I was mentally tired of being out there listening to the children playing, dodging neighbor pedestrians and watching cars and trucks and SUVs go past, some I suspected of dealing or receiving illegal substances!
The rain will be in check for a bit, so as long as the roots don't die, I will be okay. My goal will be to get up early, leave for home early and do some work each day before it gets dark.
