Doing Well

Jan 28, 2013 18:34

I would have to say that today was a good day.

* Finished my last prop assignment with a clean diff.
* Doubled back and made one last change on the first prop assignment.
* Woke at 5 a.m. with freshly brewed coffee, worked out at 5:45- 6:15, did a little work from 6:15 to 7:15, dressed, washed up and ate breakfast from 7:15 to 7:45 and was ready to drive away...but today was working from home, so continued working from there.
* Work-out was Superman, first season, disc 3, last episode (I am working my way backwards through the disc because I don't know where I left off). This was a pretty sad episode. For one thing, Lois Lane was not in this one. Inexplicably Mr. White's sister was the female reporter and it was all based in Haiti.
* Saw Dr. D today who has been following my liver enzymes. He says that unless we see a big shift in the enzymes from the blood test today that I can get by without a liver biopsy...and we can be fairly certain that I just have a fatty liver. Thus it explains why his advice was "listen to your wife" as Marisa has been trying to encourage me to do what she has been doing so well: sticking to a regular exercise regimen. So, I am trying. He says if I stick with it that I will lose a few pounds each month (he says 4-5: I would be happy if its just a dependable 2 pounds!). Anyway: good blood pressure, good pulse. Weight: hard to say because I was wearing my boots...probably around 180-184 pounds. I need to get it down to 165 pounds to just get under the overweight category based on my body mass index. Dr. D. tells me that eventually, if I stick with it to that point, that I will actually enjoy the daily exercise. For now I am trying to ignore the exercise part and concentrate on Superman.
* After I finish Superman (which should be in about 6 months) I have Fireball-XL5. I tried 45-54 minute television episodes, but those are much too long. The 25 minute episodes work much better!
* Alas, a lot of hurry up and wait activity today: wait in the waiting room, then wait some more in room 5 examination room (Dr. D was delayed because he was trying to convince a non-English-speaking-woman to get a colonoscopy. The conversation is difficult enough but it had to be through a translator), the machine which takes payments at the parking garage didn't stamp my ticket and also kept 80 cents...after I had to wait several minutes behind a woman who had similar problems with the machine, waited behind cars to get gas. Oh, well: it was not a perfect day. I tried to fill the time by planning my activities in the basement and balancing my checkbook!
* Okay, I am a half-hour behind schedule, but have already gone through the mail and fed the cats, so I may be okay: starting dinner NOW.

superman, checkbook, liver, weight, parking, exercise, fireball xl5, work
