There are now more than 1575 books in our Library Thing online database! The current count is actually 1579.

She was in Southern California and discovered a book store that specialized only in cars. Only in Beverly Hills, right? Anyway, she got me a book on Volkswagens and one on the Ford Falcon (a poorly done reprint but with good content), also a book about the top 100 Sci-Fi movies of all time (at least up to the publication of the book).
Speaking about Sci-Fi: just got a new paperback book (large) which I ordered months ago. Apparently the author or publisher or someone involved with it was sick for some time and could not make the original publication date. But it is well-worth the wait. Very content-full. I can't say much about the book quality. Like so many new books today, for instance the Falcon book, there is little attention paid to picture, paper and type quality. They all seem to look like they've been run through someone's computer printer.
Also most recent: A book called California from 1911 which was the basis (well, one chapter in the book) for the silent epic The Argonauts of California which was restored but languishes in the UCLA Film Archives and not available to the general public. It was quite a movie in its time and a lot of actors and actresses in Southern California knew someone in the film or actually participated.
Another new old one is an original book by Frances E. Willard which came out in the late 1800's and professed that girls should pursue careers and jobs with equal opportunity to boys! I purchased this one because it spent some time with two sister artists in the Boston area who were quite well known at the time. I had recently run across some of their works and wanted to find out more.
