Dad, Mom, Veterans...and the week

Nov 11, 2024 13:48

Spent this morning gathering information and photos about the service of my Dad and Mom in the U.S. Army for today, Veteran's Day. A 1940s photo of Dad, provided to me by his last family, needed digitization and some clean-up. I added a photo I took of a photo which showed Dad and some army buddies on a tour of a salt mine in Berchtesgaden, Germany. Alas, I have no other photos related to his U.S. Army career to share. For Mom, I had several photos from her training days in California, one from her in Europe and a bunch when she served at the 11th Evacuation Hospital in Korea (near Wujon).

Next up: take a shower, put on two pairs of socks, eat lunch, then move stuff into the basement from the laundry room.
