Return to the list!

Nov 07, 2024 09:38

The election, the aftermath from the Friday performance, the rainy weather, and frustrations from Midwest Loan Services all prevented progress on various tasks. Also, my obsession with finding slides put me onto reorganizing parts of my slide collection.

So, today we take up that mantle of achieving tasks again!

A few routine and event-driven things were done:
[x] retrieve recycling bin after it is emptied.
[x] drive to Clinton Street Theater for "Tim Curry Tribute" show with Marisa
[x] Phone meeting to roll over remainder of retirement funds into the single IRA.
[x] get final payment information, get cashier's check, send by certified mail with delivery tracking for $10.
[x] re-capped the property marker.
[x] cleaned up outside garbage.
[x] put out compost to green bin.
[x] returned back fence rail.
[x] replaced the sheets on the bed.
[x] dug up the worst of the broadleaf weeds.

Marisa and I need to drive to Vancouver to authorize the final IRA transfer. While I want to do that today, it might be tomorrow. Anything I can do from this list today, tomorrow or Sunday is my focus.

[ ] drive to Vancouver to authorize final IRA transfer.
[ ] find nails and nail rails into back yard post(s), especially Edgar Allen Post.
[ ] wash plastics, utensils, pots, and pans.
[ ] replace 7.5 amp fuse to fix instrument light issue.
[ ] completely clean vanity/floor:consolidate boxes, move them away, remove cat urine, dust, vacuum.
[ ] move stuff to basement from laundry room.
[ ] discover which bulb needs replacing on left turn signal circuit for Ford Focus.
[ ] fix recycling bin tray under kitchen sink.
[ ] clean out bathroom sink drain.
[ ] clean bathtub all around, vacuum under vinyl, nail in surround
[ ] find sheet vinyl floor compatible with bathroom and kitchen: purchase.
[ ] buy metal t square, roller, vinyl adhesive, silicon, pvc strip, caulking, new corner strip.
[ ] find double-stick tape, putty knife, utility knife
[ ] patch vinyl floor in bathroom and secure floor.
[ ] add silicon and pvc strip.
[ ] add corner strip.
[ ] remove dirty caulking and put in new caulking.

- Saturday: Nov. 9
[ ] check USPS for delivery of payoff for House70 mortgage.
[ ] NWVRS meeting in Oregon City 15745 S Harley Ave to arrive at 7:30 a.m. (!). I am not hard-core enough to do this through Tri-Met: I would have to walk for 20 minutes to get to 15745 S Harley Ave. outside Oregon City. So I will need to drive to this. On the way back I can stop at the End of the Oregon Trail site on the left while driving back down Washington, then just a further south at the right the Hackett House, built 1890.

Backyard: grass beginning to fill in, need another cutting. Weeds sit above very rocky areas: pavers? bricks?

Fence: need to correct what we have first. Soil is soft, if we have an extended dry period we should work on the side fence. Right now is cold but nice. If this kind of weather holds for a while and there is nothing else on the agenda, I can do what is needed to put up the fence again!

Hood: Baxter Auto Parts on N. Lombard is out of business and the building is for lease.

Backyard paving: Marisa is really worried about the gaps, so finishing the concrete platform should be first priority. I can also re-orient the bricks as planned, even though still in the rough stage. I need to dig out grass that found its way into the brick path.

Contractors: Joey Builders was rejected twice on the phone this week after they rescheduled their visit three times and the last time didn't show up. No more contractors for now: it is all on me.
