Back from the San Francisco Bay Area

Yesterday was devoted to waking up early (3 a.m.) to drive to Hillsboro and board a bus to take me to the airport there, then take a jet to San Jose, then board another bus to take me to the campus to meet the people with whom I work!

The day was fine. I had some productive sessions with my manager and a nice coversation with a friend and co-worker. We went to lunch in a campus cafeteria as a group. I felt isolated. Then we returned our trays and by the time I got to the return area everyone was gone and I didn't know the direct route to get back to the offices. I wandered around trying to follow the signs and eventually got back to the offices.

On the flight back I tried to get views of the San Francisco bridges as the sun set.

The moon was full and low in the horizon by 9 p.m. and I could see it at different locations on the trip back by truck. I didn't get a chance to get a photo, but it was amazing.

My dream this morning was very interesting: about a movie set where this small corner was devoted to vignettes that the director would improvise. In one I was faced with someone who threw pies (pumpkin, banana cream) and accepted them in the face. There were some good jokes in that interchange which, of course, I forgot after I woke. In another a bunch of young women pushed into the small space all very jovial. I looked in to see what was going on and they wanted me to join them and was sort of shoehorned in amongst them.

Today I am supposed to meet up with our new home insurance representative. So I need to get dressed for that.

On Sunday, I did partially fill what I think is box 18 with magic lantern slides. I can't find box 17 but it must be under there in the stack in our bedroom. I will need to get out boxes 1-6 so I can take them for the massive scanning effort. There were several slides I purchased but do not know where they are. I am frustrated with not having things "together."

President Biden addressed the Democratic National Convention last night--very sad yet hopeful speech from a man who stepped in to rescue us from our country's worst president.
