I have decided to just relax today because the realities would bother me too much.
* at work I was asked to look at a csv file. My go-to application for that is gnumeric. Yet, when I used gnumeric nothing happens. I went round and round and could not get it to work. Online references to this were nil. Everyone else has no problems using gnumeric. Last week gnumeric worked just fine. I still don't know what the problem is, but decided to get a new vnc. There is no issue from that.
* Pipeline plumbing sent two people to our house to prepare for the city inspection, removed the drain protector and put in plastic inserts. For this I am charged $300! They could have mailed the plastic things to me and I have removed the drain protector before myself. However, the permit is closed and I am happy. Also, that is the way they did it and they must be paid for that. In the future I will make sure to get details about this kind of thing. For some reason I thought this cost was part of what I already paid. If I had known or asked about it I would have at least been involved.
* I spent the last couple of days fixing regression tests but there are still failures to debug with a latest round of central tests. Not as bad as before, though. I finished reviewing, made one fix and understood the rest.
* The tracks supporting our sliding trashcans in the kitchen disconnected. I will now have to fix that.
* Marisa's new $1000 small computer arrived today but did not come with an AC/DC power converter, just the power cable. Her power converter did not work for her new computer, so the trouble all along was the converter itself. So I ordered a new one for her which will arrive on Wednesday.
* The roofing company arrived today to put in a return for the flashing to the roof. Because the original problem was from the south side, I think that is where they put that in. I did not see the person doing any work on the north side.
* The carpenters were here today, filling wood, cleaning.
-- Reed says the wood on the pass-through was simply to take care of code, so no additional pieces will be added by him. I will have to look at adding the bullnose myself.
-- He also says he will not use shims to keep the door true, which is what is done on "This Old House." I am very skeptical about his use of some sort of foam to do this. Online guidance is mixed. If it doesn't work, especially after I put in the heavier door, then I will fix it then.
-- No trim will go around the cellar door. Instead, Indigo drywall will come in, I hope on Monday, to put in a corner. Once again, I feel I will probably need to do something to deal with this later, maybe the first door/window trim I do (and the most complicated).
* I sent the two invoices to Leda yesterday. one of the invoices is billing for about $500 worth of Trex and screws which we did not get and we did not use. So this needs to be clarified or, if it can't be clarified I need to know. I will make sure to pay for all supplies and services in the backroom project, even those I feel are a big waste (like the Pipeline Plumbing bill).
* Looking forward to the weekend when I clean up the back room and back yard and install a door knob in the cellar door. Actually I am thinking of getting the knob today and put that in first thing in the morning, then work outside Saturday and Sunday.
* Dishes: nothing done. So I will finish that up this weekend and get to the cat litter boxes.
