Oh no!!! Research first, emblazon second. Color on Color Bad! Gosh. I already paid $400 for the tabard to be made and embroidered and it's here, looking sharp. Grammar and I just started learning the language! I think I can get away with saying Gules a Bear Rampant Proper within a double tressure Or. Wonder how many folks will point this out.

I thought of you this morning while eating wild blackberry pancakes.
I must get back to my spinning. I'm turning Brother William's cat fur into a crochet pouch.

Wow I've been reading more and more on this subject (no replacement hammock yet) and am coming to learn the origin of a bunch of obscure words we commonly use as they relate to Chivalry. Pretty cool stuff, it's funny how we come to use words and are so acutely unaware of their meaning besides in the vernacular.
I think it'll look good and can't wait for the chance to wear it and since that comes in September it's reason for being will certainly be appreciated by me, it's still very sunny in September and one more layer over top of 5 layers will actually be a bit cooler for me and on those early spring mornings it'll fend the wind off my fur too. = )

It's only bad to put color on color if you're trying to stay within the Blazon of Britainy but in the coat of arms I've come up with, the whole design is meant to represent as much of my ancestry as possible and still stay within the scope of the 1100's-1600's in Chivalric and I think I've accomplished that. I really doubt that anyone will say anything to me when I'm wearing it, except for how good it looks = ) It does look really super and I'm proud of it even if it's a tiny bit anachronistic for an anachronist ;)
