I'm gonna attempt to do my first real update in a long, long time.
Let's start with school: Things are going pretty good so far. I could be wrong, but I think I have a much easier time in college than I did in highschool. So far, I've done well on pretty much all of my essays, as well as my tests. I have my first real big test this Thursday for ISS 215, I intend to study hardcore in the next few days.
Jazz Band and Trumpet is going well right now also. My first and most likely only concert of the semester is Monday, October 25th @ the Music Auditorium. We will be playing approximately 10 tunes, and I have featured solos on two songs. I've been learning a lot in lessons so far, particularly in the line of improvisation. I have a few completley new ways to approach improvising now. By the way, I am thinking of starting a jazz improvisation livejournal community...I might have to call upon the assistance of one of you crazy livejournal people though. *cough* stefanie *cough*
Also, I've had the itching for doing some sort of independent music project: So if anyone is interested in starting anything or if they need me for anything (I play trumpet mainly, but am also semi-proficient in singing, guitar, and to a lesser degree, piano/keys). I'd be open to anything in the following genres (In no particular order):
Jazz (Big Band/Combo)
Avante Garde
Rock
Ska
Barbershop Quartet-esque thing
Emo?
I'm pretty open-minded about music, so if you aren't sure if your musical ideas falls into any of those categories...comment or something anyways.
Random tidbits:
-Things have been going well between Sam and I.
-I haven't seen my friends much lately, I intend to fix that this Saturday.
-Hopefully, I'll see Jillian too.
-I was supposed to be going to Indiana this upcoming weekend, but among other reasons, I'm pretty sure that Eryn doesn't want to see me.
-The 23rd is slowly approaching...
-There are a few people in particular whom I've grown apart from because I can never see them, some of them are probably for the best, but there's one who I really wish I could see.
-I'm pretty sure that I finally have my appettite back!
-Happy Double Anniversary Mathew and Saundra!
-My phone makes an excellent flashlight.
-I got a new gamepad for my PC...so now I can play Earthworm Jim the way it was meant to be.
-Speaking of my computer, it's sick, which means that next Sunday I will be formatting, installing Windows 2000.
-I still want to have one good friend up here at MSU...I have a few people in mind, but hopefully things work out soon.
-Youth culture killed my dog.
-I think it was snowing for like 2 minutes today in East Lansing.
-I just realized recently that Thaddeus Wodjlaksdflaj could possibly room with the gang and I next year, you should apply and get accepted soon!
-I haven't actually had my little Star Wars party yet...and I haven't even watched all of any of them yet.
-I bought the Aladdin DVD!
-I accidentally changed my legal residence to East Lansing...oops!
And of course...
A few of you have gone out of your way to write me letters and send me stuff during my stay here in East Lansing...in case some of you other folk are interested, here's my address:
