How things stand heading into 2013...
So here I am. The world did not end on December 21st (obviously), and 2013 has arrived on schedule. I guess
are things going alright overall. Mitchell is gone from my life now, with only a few minor aftershocks of his habitual dramatics. I can't honestly say that I miss him at all, but I do sometimes wish it had gone better. He had a certain insight into aspects of my person that most people don't, and it was nice to find someone who "got me" like that. Unfortunately, his personal demons and opportunistic behaviors were intolerable to a degree which overwhelmed the good points. Massively overwhelmed, I should say... if it were a battle, it'd be like a mechanized infantry unit vs. 5-6 gerbils milling in the grass. (sigh)
So I've been hanging out with a gentleman named Traymant lately, who is sweet and handsome and has a functioning moral compass, which is nice. Overall, I am not trying to rush into a relationship of any kind at the moment, as there are some internal issues of my own that need resolving before I am really ready to be with anyone. But it's nice to have some company sometimes.
Pogo was staying with me for a bit, which was cool, but his lifestyle began to impinge on the peace and security of my home a bit. Conveniently, Pogo's brother postponed his plans to move to Houston for awhile, so Pogo is staying with him in Otay Ranch at present. That's working out well, as I am once-again/still in a financial pinch, and can't support really anyone beyond myself just now. There's a family meeting in LA scheduled for the end of this month and so I have to save $100 out of my budgeting to cover the gasoline I'll need for that trip. It's sad that my margins are that tight, but they are, and if I want to eat until I get paid again, I have to economize absolutely everywhere I can. So basically I'm being a couch-potato for the next 2 weeks... sleeping as much as possible and generally forgoing activities which might consume funds or energy. So, yeah... I'm bored these days. But I'll live.
