Wesley Crusher is Very Girlie!
I know that sounds harsh and judgemental, especially from someone who circulates so comfortably in the gay community, but I was watching old episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation on BBCA, and I am continually struck both by how course and blatant are the stories, acting, and effects, and--inexplicably--by how femme is the character of Wesley Crusher. Strange...
Mitchell and I are doing better lately. He has been spending more time with me, and we are seemingly happy to be back in regular contact. Not sure exactly how this will shake out, of course, but it's cool for now.
I had a subway sandwich for lunch... yum.
And now I suppose I must get around to the part where I admit all this trivia is a way to avoid the fact that Christal's mother passed away this week. I never met the woman (I don't think), but I almost feel I know her from the stories Christal tells. Things like this aren't supposed to be easy on anyone, but I know my friend will take it especially hard. I don't really know what to say to comfort her, and I doubt such intrusion would be welcome anyways, but my heart goes out to her and her entire family.
I need to go see my own mother while I still can.
