some of these are probably jumbled because i write them... a long time ago. the first three were part of an old post of mine that i fucked up royally so i'm just reposting them, and the final is something i've had laying around on google docs for probably five months. they're all "tropes" and very... mildly rated (also pretty lazy and i didn't even title them), but. i also didn't bother to have them be metaed (do i ever do that, though?) or go through for spelling mistakes twice. i apologize profusely.

"Where's the egg?" Taeyeon had looked everywhere: behind her computer monitor, under her bed, in her laundry basket, everywhere. It wasn't until she'd taken to her freezer that it'd dawned on her: she hadn't been the one who'd taken the egg home that night.
Eyes narrowing at her partner, she crossed her arms over her chest. Intimidation had never really been her thing, but now was probably a better time than ever to give it another try.
"Uh…," a strange clicking noise came from the back of Jonghyun's throat as he crossed and uncrossed his legs. Taeyeon could almost taste the apprehension.
"Uh?"
"I think I ate it."
Oh. Great. "You think you ate it? You either did or you didn't."
Jonghyun was silent for a moment before letting out a heaving sigh - as if he was letting the heaviest of weights off of his shoulder. "No…, I ate it," he started. "I'm really, really, really sorry. My parents were gone last night and they forgot to leave me some money for pizza and before I knew it, I was cracking it over a frying pan and I freaked. I swear to God, it started screaming at me. I felt terrible," he paused, gaze turning up to look at hers.
"Don't you give me those stupid puppy dog eyes of yours, it's not going to work."
He grumbled. "I killed our baby."
"Yeah. You did, and you're going to be the one to buy a new one and make this all go away."

"I don't wanna go." Jonghyun had mumbled to himself on repeat as Taeyeon grabbed onto his wrist outside of SM's new building. With a grin plastered on her face, she had drug him over to her car, pushing him into the passenger's seat with just five words rolling off her tongue as she slammed the door on him.
"We're going to the arcade."
After the last time that Jonghyun had played video games with Taeyeon, he'd learned that it was probably best… not to ever again. As much as he loved to sit back and enjoy a good round of Mario Kart, his buzz was kind of killed when the person he was playing with started shooting threats at him every time he attacked her on the track.
He'd been avoiding her proposals to go to some twenty-four-hour arcade ever since. Jonghyun was fine with hanging out with her anywhere else but a line had to drawn.
He didn't feel like dying anytime soon.
Nevertheless, he'd allowed Taeyeon to lead him into the nearly abandoned arcade, her fingers having been grasped tightly around his wrist again the second they'd left her car.
It was a wonder to him, how she managed to come to a public place like an arcade without getting swarmed by people who wanted her autograph or a handshake. She seemed to know some of the people who worked behind the counter, though. It was all starting to feel pretty inclusive to him as she greeted them by name.
Jonghyun just stood silently next to her, eyes fixed on the laces of his shoes. This continued as she moved through one game after another: first person shooter, skeeball, and even a round of Dance Dance Revolution.
"Why are you being such a buzzkill?"
After a good half hour of avoiding speaking up at all, Jonghyun finally cleared his throat, an incredulous look crossing his features. "I'm no-…, I have no idea what you're talking about."
"You haven't said anything since I grabbed you at the building," she replied, huffing as she swung a mallet down onto a mole. "Play something with me."
"I…" Jonghyun sighed, reaching forward to grab the other mallet, watching as a wide smile appeared on Taeyeon's face. Swinging the mallet down, not quite at the same speed she was, but still swinging it, "You know, you're kind of terrifying when you play shit like this."
"Am I?"
"You threw a bowl of chips at my head when I beat you at Mario Kart last month."
"Is that why you've been turning down my offers to come here?"
"Maybe."
"Oh," she paused, whacking another mole. "Come on, don't be such a baby about it. Are you afraid I'm going to throttle you or something?"
"The thought's crossed my mind more than once."
"I'd never hurt you." Taeyeon hit the last mole, using her free arm to pump into the air victoriously as she read her score. "Unless you give me a good reason to."
"That's comforting."

kiss to save the day, g, 280w
"I think I'm dying, noona."
Taeyeon tilted her head, frowning down at the paint splattered chest of Jonghyun, holding back a laugh that threatened to burst out of her. Kneeling down next to him, she pressed a hand against one of the small bursts of color. Maybe she'd just play into his game for awhile.
"Oh dear," she gasped, raising her other hand to cover her mouth. "There's so much blood, and my medical supplies are all the way on the other end of the field." If he could be dying, she could be a doctor.
"It's too late for that."
"Too late?"
"Hide me from the others, they're closing in on us." Taeyeon turned around to catch a glimpse of their other friends, shooting each other diligently with their paintball guns.
"I think we're safe for now."
"Stay with me until the end?"
"Of course." Taeyeon moved her hand down from her mouth to grab onto one of his, squeezing it tightly as he let out a dramatic cough.
"Could you do something for me before I… go?"
"Anything."
"A…" Jonghyun trailed off, huffing and coughing more. If it had been hard to hold back giggles a minute earlier, it was bordering on impossible by then. "A kiss."
"A kiss?"
"Kiss me."
Pondering the proposition for a second, Taeyeon shrugged her shoulders, leaning down to peck Jonghyun quick on the lips. Pulling back, she looked down at her friend who was gazing back up at her with a look nothing short of dreamy. "I think…"
"You think…?"
"I think that did it, I… I can breathe again. I think you saved my life."
Shaking her head, Taeyeon brought herself back up to her feet, holding out her hand for Jonghyun to grab onto. "Good to know."

comfort/angst, g
Light rapping against the door of her hotel room had stirred Taeyeon out of a peaceful slumber, long tee shirt falling around her thighs as she stood up, cautious and in a daze, to see who was making the noise. Squinting one eye as she stepped in front of the peep hole looking into the hallway, she heaved a sigh, registering a mass of fluffy blonde hair on the other end.
Slowly beginning to undo the locks on the door, her head turned to the side to read the hotel issued alarm clock: four forty-five. It was almost five in the morning, yet here Jonghyun was, knocking at her door (again).
A bright light from the hallway entered into the room as the door fully opened, Taeyeon cringing as it hit her eyes, stepping back into the darkness at the side and waving for Jonghyun to come inside. She rose a hand upward to mask the light from hitting her further as Jonghyun too cue from her action, frame slumped while he walked, moving her hand back down to close the door only after he paused in front of her.
The light that had entered the room disappeared, leaving only the reflection of the blaring red letters flashing across the alarm clock and dim lights peeking through the closed curtains to cast over his face. Despite this, she could wholly make out the dark circles under his eyes, prominent more than ever without the masking of concealer or sunglasses.
He stepped forward, arms snaked around her waist almost by instinct. “I’m so tired,” she heard him murmur as his cheek rested against her collarbone.
He was twenty-three; what had he done to deserve to be as tired as he was?
Taeyeon frowned, lips brushing against his forehead. “I know,” she mumbled back, removing an arm from around her to make room for her hand, which clasped around his own. Lacing their fingers as she led them toward the bed, she walked Jonghyun over to the unmade side, giving him a gentle push toward the mattress. She read his frown as she let go of him fully, his body falling against the comforter.
“You’ll have to find a way to get out of here without anyone noticing later,” Taeyeon started as she made her way to the other side of the bed, laying down onto it, eyes locking on Jonghyun’s strained form.
He nodded against one of her pillows, visibly inching closer to her with every second that passed by until his face was mere inches from her own, warm breath fanning across her cheeks. “Thank you for always being there.” The corners of Taeyeon’s lips quirked upward slightly at his words, leaning into him as his arm found it’s warm back around her waist.
