The house passed the inspection. So now what? Well, now we have to pay for it. We have most of the money, but getting the rest out of IRAs will take about a week. This seems like forever right now, as I really want the house to be ready by Thanksgiving and there is plenty to do. It may turn out that getting the work don't won't be too bad, and we'll make it in plenty of time. Or it may turn out that there is no way in hell that we'll get it done by then. Or it could be that we'll get it finished by Thanksgiving, but the house will stink of paint and polyurethane, so we'll end up eating at the old place and then going to Orycon, giving it the weekend to air out.
In my effort to move the housing project forward, I spent about three hours this evening going through various books on painting, design, etc. I know that I want a
cottage-style garden that focuses mainly on vegetables. We want an asian-themed living room (much like our current living room but moreso). Our bedroom will stay jungle-themed (isn't
this a cool jungle theme!). Our computer room will be green and have all the mermaids and half-naked lady pictures, but I really don't want it to have that same old boring computer room look (you know the one, with the long table with computers and stuff piled all around it - like
this). I want a room that is a cross between a
film noir office and a
banker's office. I think the trick is that the desks face each other in the middle of the room (like
so).
I have to head to bed now, but I will ramble more about house later.
