[During the day, Paprika doesn't have much motivation to be spotted anywhere. She keeps to herself, doesn't so much as glance as the journals, and patiently waits for the sun to set. For when the sun sets that is when all the good boys and girls go to bed. And, she will have to assist them in their endeavor

[It's another one of those sleepless nights for Luke. He's already halfway through the tea he made earlier, though he knows it won't really help until some time later. There's been something... weird going on today, and he swears he knows some of the stories being acted out. What a day...

But since it's so quiet, of course he hears something rattling at the hallway window. Once he gets there, he opens it immediately to see who or what is there, and - ]

Paprika? [What's she doing here? And why is she solid?]

Oof!

[She huffs as she falls through to the other side of the window and into his home.]

Hey Luke.

[cakeblocked]

[Luke jumps to the side to avoid the collision - and, as a consequence, allows her to tumble through, too. What a gentleman. But as if he realized his blunder, Luke lets out a little sigh to himself before he helps hold her steady by taking her shoulders. This is... weird, seeing her outside of his dreams for once. Or maybe he really is dreaming...?]

What're you doing here? Do you need something?

[She'll stand up with the help, fixing her hat before it falls off and kneeling down to pick up the umbrella and closed sand bag. They had to go through the window before she did unfortunately.]

Well yeah, I sort of do. It's important as well -- ah, you weren't even supposed to see me. [She is so not good at this sandman stuff.]

[He pauses... before he brings his hands back to put them on his hips. Wait a second...]

Were you trying to sneak in or something? You could've just knocked on the door...

Well you aren't supposed to know I'm doing it, that's why!

[He lets out a sigh. Man... Now Paprika's acting weird. Still... He'll take a step backwards to let her inside.]

Maybe I can pretend I didn't see you... So what's this important thing you need to do?

[She ponders. Should she really tell Luke what's going on? ...Well he'll probably think it's a dream with her ~mystical sand~]

I need to put you to sleep. Is Asch already asleep?

[cakeblocked]

Put me to... sleep?

Y-Yeah, he is... He always sleeps before I do. [He runs a hand through his hair as he walks further into the hall, then turns to look over his shoulder.] So, uh... how're you going to put me to sleep? Another textbook?

Nope. I got something much better than a textbook. [She reaches into her magical bag and takes a tiny handful of sand.] It'll knock you out right away!

Really? Right away? [Luke has never heard of anything like that. The closest he can come to are sleeping pills, which he tries not to use so much. He can't help walking back to her and leaning his head forward and whatever she has in her hand.] What is it, some kind of medicine?

[byakkoyagirl]

Better than that! [She smiles brightly and leans toward Luke.] When you wake up, you normally have a kind of sand in your eyes, right? Do you know why?

[... Does he wake up with sand in his eyes? Luke is usually too sleepy to tell, but... he doesn't think so. So, the face he gives her is something like blank confusion before he smiles a little, somewhat hesitantly. Maybe she'll tell him.]

I... can't say I do. Why?

You have sand in your eyes because the Sandman comes and blows sand into them. That is how you fall asleep! Never heard of the story?
