I just spent 8 hours at the mall. Because Christmas Eve is the Big Day in Poland, this was effectively the last weekend before Christmas. Still I emerged victorious and with most of my shopping done :D
I also took in King Kong, on which I have a few words to say.
Dear Peter Jackson,
We hatesssss you. We really hates you.
Sincerely, Beth
This movie has everything and a thousand elephants diplodoks. There are chase and fight sequences that probably made George Lucas pee his pants in mad envy, because he's used to his movies having the most overindulgent sequences in town. There is a half-hour stampede, and another fifteen-minute sequence of bugs eating people's faces, not to mention the Amazing Triple T-Rex Trapeze Act. And a triceratops with a centipede scarf on top.
And yet I cannot say I hated this movie, because when it was good, it was heartbreaking. It was done right. And I'll remember the ice sequence forever and ever.
In conclusion: Pete captured the magic of thirties' cinema, both the good and the ugly. And for that, I hate him forever.
When's his next movie coming out, anyway?
blather,
