- The Rob Marshall-helmed screen adaptation of "Nine" in the categories of Best Comedy or Musical, Best Ensemble and Best Cinematography (Dion Beebe).
- Meryl Streep earned Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical for "Julie & Julia"
- Michael Stuhlbarg was awarded Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical for "A Serious Man."
- Best Drama went to "The Hurt Locker," while "The Fantastic Mr. Fox" received Best Animated Film and Foreign Film honors went to Pedro Almodóvar's "Broken Embraces" and "The Maid."
- The HBO film of "Grey Gardens" received Best Motion Picture Made for Television, with Drew Barrymore earning Best Actress in a Television Miniseries for her performance as Little Edie.
- "Glee" picked up a host of accolades including Best Comedy or Musical Television Series, Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical Television Series for Lea Michele, Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical Television Series for Matthew Morrison, Best Actress in a Supporting Role for Television Series (for Jane Lynch) and Best Guest Star (for Kristin Chenoweth).
- Glenn Close received the Best Actress in a Television Drama Series for "Damages" and John Lithgow earned Best Actor in a Supporting Role for a Television Drama for his work on "Dexter."
