Ho, Ho, Bloody Ho!!
So this is my last day at work - although I get paid to the 31st December - and I'm still here!
I'm trying to leave my work in some sort of order - professional to the last - well, I will need decent references.
It won't be easy to find a job in the north-west of England that pays as well as this one but I don't want to move (for various reasons). My "negotiations" went pretty well - they're giving me six months pay, and severance costs in the UK are tax free up to £30,000 so really it's more like 8 months net salary. That takes away the immediate pressure.
I could probably get temporary work in a similar field so I'll be updating my CV straight after Christmas and will send it to Agencies in the first week of January. They're not going to look at anything this week!
So Happy Holidays to all of my LJ Friends. I'm going to have a good one, regardless! Church with Mum tonight, followed by "the girls" coming around for drinkies!!
