Fox gets a pay-off for their costs, 8.5% of the of the WATCHMEN gross, and a piece of the action on future sequels and spin-offs.
Larry Gordon gets a round of phone calls with his insurer and inevitable lawsuit against the lawyers who handled the turnaround deal with Fox.
(I made the last part up, but I'm guessing it's coming since Larry can be on the hook to Warner's for a LOT of money because of this screw-up.)
