So, Microeconomics...

Yeah, I suck. I do not seem to be grasping it and I'm really not sure why. Last night I took my mid-term exam. Studied and everything. Actually felt like, as long as there were not graphs, I should get at least a B. Well, there were no graphs and I some how managed to get a low C. WTF? I understand what I am reading and it's pretty basic stuffs, but I just can't seem to take a test on it. And don't even get me started on the graphs. We have had two homework assignments so far. There are four graphs we are to use in order to answer the homework questions. Seems simple enough. In fact, the professor said to keep it simple, don't over-think it, and just go with the information before you (no assumptions...though economics is mostly based on assumptions). I flunked the first homework assignment because I assumed things and should not have done that though it is hard not to when you are given a certain amount of info about a "real world" situation, but you are only to use the information in front of you...sometimes what you already know to be true just kinda sneaks its way in there. Okay, second homework assignment I am much more objective and attempting to work with only the info given and I think I am doing pretty well. Submit my homework and wind up with 6 out of 10 correct. Blarg. Fortunately, I could submit my homework as many times as I want, until 2359 Saturday. I had Tim help me out yesterday and wound up with 10 out of 10. It helped that he felt that the professor was not being very fair his questions regarding the graphs. The reason we both feel this is because it seems the professor flip-flops depending on the question as to whether or not you should assume things or whether or not there is not enough info available and you don't know which questions (until you submit your answers) this applies to.

Normally I don't whine about low grades because it is generally related to something I have done or not done and I can accept that and try harder next time. In this instance I actually feel like this professor isn't entirely fair in his expectations. I am not a mind reader. Oh well, I am doing well on everything else and pretty much have my research paper done and have gotten As on everything I have handed in regarding this project, as well as As on our weekly discussion threads. I will be quite pleased if I get a B in this class. Please, let me get a B. I'm working my ass off...I deserve it.
