Stupid stuff about music and conventions

I am mad. People are pissing me off. Stop implying that our party was an SEMP. Really. That era has past. Most of the people playing at the party weren't around for most of those. Or alternately were shunned when they were happening because others didn't think them good enough or like their music. There are a couple of people still active from that ( Read more... )

I find the whole argument fascinating really as I embark on AppleCon and this is exactly why I've always only thought about a music con and never tried one. I especially find it interesting because as everyone points out this was a private party where one can do as they please which I whole heartedly agree with but here I am planning a con that will simply do it's best to incorporate both. I plan to have those attending the con help figure out how to do that and I don't imagine it will be an easy task. But then I think all sorts of groups and organizations operate this way so it must be doable.

I had a great time at your party and was delighted to help. And that cake and mouse was so yummy. It's funny cause I was thinking it would be the first year I or my David hadn't arranged a special dessert for my birthday and then one magically appeared and everyone sang to me and it was grand. But I'm missing you guys now, I mean it's been days!

I've always found it peculiar how fans can complain so well about what others do but seem incapable of taking the initiative to make things happen that they want.
