It flurried today but nothing is sticking which as far as I am concerned is just fine! Poor Hannah is home sick today. She came home early yesterday with a headache and a stomachache. Today she is at my in-laws. Did I mention that my MIL retired? Good timing for us or I would have had to take a sick day to watch her. I wonder at what age it is okay for them to stay home all day by themselves. It probably varies by child. She's not really keen on staying home alone so I don't see that as an option for the near future.
My finger is healing. The tip is no longer totally numb. Just a little. The nail hasn't fallen off. We'll see. Most of the time I keep a band-aid on it so that it doesn't catch on anything.
Our weekend is shaping up to be crazy busy as always
Friday night - services are at 8 so if we can go I would like to even if it is just Peter and I.
Saturday morning - Jr. Cong is at 10:30 and later on Jeff and I are going out to dinner with another couple.
Sunday morning - Religious School for the kids, the Men's Club at Temple is sponsoring a breakfast that Jeff and I should go to.
Sunday afternoon - Jeff's niece Katie is having her birthday party at Monster Golf. It is an indoor mini golf place that glows in the dark. Jeff is supposed to be at the Temple because the Men's Club is opening their room (the Man Cave) for the big football game.
*CRAP* I just remembered there is no Religious School Sunday b/c the kids are off on Monday for MLK Day. I'm not off but Jeff is so that isn't a problem but both of us can't go to the breakfast and leave the kids home alone. Well, we probably could I'm just not sure that it is a good idea.
Oh well. We'll figure it out. I gotta get back to work. Took a quick LJ break. Now back to ordering shiny new books to replace the yucky old outdated ones. Anyone reading anything good? So far this year I've read:
- Simply Southern: With a Dash of Soul (Kosher Southern Cookbook)
- It's All Greek to Me. Katie MacAllister. Silly romance that took me forever to read.
- Untitled Manuscript. L.K. a book group member's daughter (got that?) wrote a memoir and asked me to read it. It was pretty good. about her time spent growing up as a Moonie.
- Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. We read this for book group. I was hesitant about the whole novel in letters but it works!
Hope everyone has a good weekend!
