Happy 2012!  I started the new year with a trip to the Emergency Room.  I slammed my finger (Left index) into the car door, tried to dull the pain with an obscene amount of vodka and had an alcohol fueled anxiety attack.  Bet your NYE wasn't that exciting.  One good thing about going to the er was that we found out my finger wasn't broken and they gave me lots of IV fluids so I had almost no hangover the next day just felt crummy.

Other than that the new year is just fine. I am still worried about Hannah and how she manages her emotions.  Not sure the therapist we were taking her to is working out. Might try to find a different one. Peter is doing fine - happy building things with his legos and being a goofball.  Hannah is saving up her allowance - she wants to buy another American Girl doll.  We might veto that, since she already bought one with her allowance money last year.  She doesn't need to save for an iTouch because Jeff and I got iPhones so we are giving the kids our iTouches.  Thankfully a friend of ours from the Synagogue works for Sprint and got us a family & friends deal with 500 minutes, unlimited texting and unlimited data for $40 a month.  Now I have to  do a reset on the iTouches and attach them to my iTunes account.  I want control over what they add and don't add.

Didn't make my goal of reading 75 books.  Only read 72.  Still happy with that though.  Celebrated my 43rd birthday yesterday.  Don't feel that old.  Jeff made me dinner.  Lamb meatballs in a spicy fresh tomato sauce with sauteed green beans over farro.  So yummy.  Had leftovers for dinner tonight.  Oh, and we bought a treadmill to replace the workout equipment that was ruined in the flood.  You can connect your iPod to it and listen either through headphones or speakers.  The whole basement has been reorganized and it looks great.  Jeff did that while I organized the kids rooms.  Took a load of stuff to Big Brothers/Big Sisters to donate.  Now I just need to work on my room, the craft stuff and some of the toys downstairs.  Speaking of organizing, for those of you with lego fans, how do you organize/store the legos?

New Top Chef tonight!  I wish there would be a new Grey's or Private Practice already.

holidays - new year's 's eve, flooding, organizing, medical, technology, family - peter, books, family - hannah
