I'm at work and it is frankly too freezing to start doing any actual work. Thus, this entry.
Jill and I joined a knitting class. Haaa. Yeah, I'm one of those girls. It should be fun though. We are so excited, like nerdy little kids or something. It doesn't start until January though, so that's kinda sad. I tried to crochet before. I tried really really hard. I sucked. ha. My coworker said, "Melissa, I think it is time to give up. Why don't you just sew all of your little pathetic peices together and make a scarf for your cat?" I really should have. So this will be an interesting experience. I'm pretty artsy, but I don't know what gets me so stuck. I think it's the logistics of the whoel thing. Give me paints and a cavas and I'm good. Or string and beads. This, there are like rules. ha. ha.
We had the funnest night ever at work the other night. It was a 13 hour day, so we needed some excitement I guess. We were looking for stuff in the attic (which I am convinced is haunted or the dwelling of a small deer) and we were freaking out and screaming at everything. Then we so heard footsteps downstairs. I am basically in the back of the attic in the fetal position at this point, and Jill heads DOWN the stairs, then half way up and says, I don't know where to go. She was pointing this paper mache reindeer down the steps (like paper mache definitly is a great weapon choice) and says hellooo? It ended up being another coworker who was in late with a client. It was so funny though. Good times at work.
I've been having such a fun time getting ready for the holidays. I bake a lot and make things and shop. I like doing my shopping alone because I can actually get it done. But I like shopping with friends or fam and helping them too.
Ok. A penguin just walked by my office. :) Freezing. Definitly not going skiing. But I was just saying, skiing should be skipped more often in lieu of the peppermint schnapps and hot chocolate. I'm always down for that. Ha. Festive alcohol is somehow more fun than regular kind.
I'm going to this holiday show in NY tomorrow. Sam Champion says it's going to feel like it's in the teens. Why do I say yes to things? ha. It'll be fun though. No work + NYC + something dancing and singing in holiday costumes= a handsdown good time. haha. right.
One of my coworkers is having a holiday party in a few weeks. Fun, right? well, yes. But you always have to consider the mixing of the drinking and the coworkers.
Angela is my heart. She and I talked for a really long time the other night. I hate that she is so far away, but she is coming home for a few days around christmas.
"Bitterman's ponytail is awesome." ha.
I am trying to convince one of my friends to stop being a baby and go hiking with me. Granted, I just bitched for 10 minutes about the cold, but hiking you don't have snow. And that is why they make gloves and hats and thermals.
Why doesn't Brad and Ellen's address exist? I go to their house. I know it exists. The perils of hoiday cards.
I love the following about this time of year: gingerbread coffee, lots of cinnamony-spice smells and flavors all around, people are somehow more smiley (unless that is they are in a vehicle), silliness is a little more socially acceptable (not that I really ever gave about socially exceptable. ha.), dumb holiday cartoons, people who wear bells or lights or reindeer on their sweaters/jewelry/socks/etc, rockin out the hot chocolate any time of day, excuses to get together with lots of random people, big fluffy blankets, holiday cards that catch you up on everyone's life (even those people you thought stop existing. ha), babies who get SO scared of santa (they are the sane kids..come on, the guy sneaks into your house in the middle of the night and is always watching you. that's creepy as shit.), decorations and lights.
Ok, that was my attempt to quash the absolute hatred of cold, drivers and lines. this is all.
Rached my breaking point..going to make some tea pronto!! :) love.
