Swine flluuuu. A kid at Madrona Elementary is suspected to have it and the school has been closed for five days. I'm praying so hard that I and the people I love don't get sick - also that nobody on campus gets sick and the campus closes, I have worked too damn hard the past five weeks to have this quarter cut short. Too damn hard.

A note about antibacterial soap: it does more harm than good.

By washing your hands constantly with antibacterial soap, you're actually harming the antibodies, you're sort of washing them away as it were. Use actual soap, NOT antibacterial. Same goes for hand sanitizer, it's counter productive. You need to build up your antibodies, constantly cleaning your hands will not make them more sterile, if anything, it's going to make them more susceptible. I'm not making this up either, it is a proven fact, but no one admits it because of marketing. Not to mention, using communal soap dispensers gives you more germs than anything. Bathrooms are the dirties places and if you're that worried, bring in your own soap to use it. Use a bar, not a gel, and make sure your container that you keep the soap in is clean.

Very little people have died from the "swine flu" at all. The media is blowing it far out of proportion. It's just the flu. That's all. It's just a new strand, like it is every year, but it's just hit at an irregular time and it was concentrated in one area. That is all. Don't fall into the hype, it'll do you no good. Not to mention it is VERY rare for it to travel from person to person, everyone who has it thus far, since what I've last read yesterday, has been to Mexico recently. There are 8 probably cases in Maryland, but there's no proof it's this "swine flu," people may just be sick with flu symptoms and people are just freaking out. Not to mention in one family in Maryland two people have it, but no one else does. It doesn't travel from person to person that easily. People are being cured very easily, TamiFlu works. If you're worried, get your doctor to try and get you some TamiFlu, granted, it may be hard, but if you're that worried, then get it.

If school is closed, you won't be penalized. It won't be closed the rest of the year, don't worry.

Also, antibacterial doesn't help against viruses... which the "flu" is. So it really doesn't help at all. It's an airborne virus, respiratory...I'd be more worried about people sneezing around you.

Thanks for your concern. I am actually really not that worried, XD I know people are overreacting. There's nothing I can do about the soap that they put in the bathrooms now, I was just commenting on how it's funny that they try and heighten what they think will protect us everywhere except in the dorms, where it's needed most.
