Alden left for China yesterday. I hope that he has a wonderful semester and learns hella Chinese and loads of other good things. Because I am, as you might know, a language enthusiast, and I want my brother to have a good time. You knows? I know I do. Have a good time, Alden! I really, really hope you have amazing times.
So before Alden left for China, do you know what we did? We--Alden, myself, Calvin, Zoe and our cousin Chris--all played Dungeons & Dragons. Oh yes we did! Alden was the Dungeonmaster, and it was a really good time! I am not ashamed to admit this, because i...don't think people will care or be surprised, I guess. But it was really cool. I was a human cleric; I named myself Katurian Katurian Katurian, as I had just read Martin McDonagh's excellent play The Pillowman--which you should read, if you like theatre and things that are extremely twisted--and I guess I wanted a un-D&D name. I didn't really do a whole lot either game, but it was still a good experience. Calvin and Chris got really into it--they'll deny it if you ask them (maybe), but it's the truth! I wasn't as sure of what I was doing, but maybe if I try it again I will be. I don't know.
So I have two and a half weeks left of break. Hopefully they will be more social than the first half of break was--I'm guessing they will be. I still need to *ahem* secure a job for the summer that won't mind that I'll only be working for two months--mainly because I'm sure as hell not going to be able to find a job before leaving for Germany, and I'm not likely to get it done over spring break either. So we'll see about that (though I was looking at my resume, and apparently if you count my internship senior year, I have held eight different jobs since 2002. Weird, eh?) I'll get on that more tomorrow. Also, next week I am meeting up with a bunch of people from high school, which should be nice, and after that I'm going to visit Marissa for the weekend which will, of course, be the greatest of all time. Especially when I show her the wonderment that is Tootsie.
That's all the plans I have. Hopefully I'll find people who want to see Children Of Men, which looks extremely good, I would say. I saw Casino Royale with Ben and Ian last week and we all found it completely radical. Some truly exceptional action sequences and all very well done. And I'll probably buzz Williams. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe some other time. We'll see. Oh, and I got all my grades back and I did pretty well--it's the first semester since Fall 2004 without any C's. So that's good.
See, this is what happens when I don't update with my every thought--when I do eventually update, I still include almost every little thought, but it's all together in a big mixture without elaboration and not very interesting. If it ever was.
Oh, lastly, I am pretty sure I'm going to have my car on campus next semester. The one hitch? It's really freaking old--I just had two tires replaced yesterday. I'm sure it has it in it; I'm just hoping it has more in it than it's ugly, rusty exterior would suggest. The end!
