What is the deal??
Ok... so I have been talking to friends and reading things and all I have been seeing lately is people drinking and getting drunk. They are two different things but STILL... People I know who I thought had never drunk before are now getting drunk and stupid **** like that!! What exactly is the thrill behind losing self control and acting like a freaking moron?? I am sorry if I am offending anyone but I simply don't get it!! Have you such a stupid and boring existence that you must change your state of mind with alcohol just to have fun?? My friends, the ones I thought were smart and above that sort of thing (as the popular group in high school never was) are now doing the same thing as those people I always thought were pathetic!! I simply don't get it. We always had fun when we were sober... has college changed everyone so much that alcohol is now what we have?? Send me back to high school if that is so. Finals are coming up, and for me they are already here. So are we all celebrating?? We were able to celebrate quite well for New Year's without that junk. So why the change?? I am seeing more and more people drink lately and it saddens me. I don't care how smart you are. Drinking (especially when we are still underage) is NOT the smart thing to do. I can see drinking when I am 21, which is farther for me than for many who read this, but now, I am following the law (which quite honestly, I don't agree with-- as some have pointed out-- if I can die for my country, I should be able to go to the local bar and get a drink-- but it is law so I am following it) and keeping control of my actions. I am just sorry for those of you who feel that is your only way to have fun. Later...
