Let me count the ways
How do I love my roommate? Let me count the ways... ;-)
I got an email from Jeff Dunham's mailing list today, announcing two things:
1) That you can now pre-order Jeff's Very Special Christmas Special on DVD. (My good friend starrynights24 got some of the material for the DVD tested on her when she saw Jeff live a few months ago, and she said it's really good!)
2) That Jeff is performing at the Gibson Amphitheatre at the Universal CityWalk (at Universal Studios up in L.A., for those who don't know California) three days before my 30th birthday (ACK!).
I forwarded this email to my roommate, melindakitty , with a complaint to the effect of "of course - a fan pre-order offer for tickets to a local show I'd love to see, just before my birthday, and I'm worse than flat broke," but less eloquent than that, because with a really good friend you can be more terse and use words like "frak," and they still get it.
(Backstory on the brokeness, as well as the quote below: I've been technically unemployed since the end of June, though doing some freelance for my former employer - loooong story, but a big part of the stress I've been under, which is a big part of the reason I haven't updated this LJ in so long. There are other sources of stress and other reasons I've been quiet, but if I go into them now, I'll have to use a different mood icon.)
Anyway. Next thing I know, I get an email back from my roomie. A forward from Ticketmaster. :-D *happydance* When I pounced her on Y!M, she told me, "You deserve SOMETHING to make you happy... Happy Birthday. SURPRISE!!!"
So let me repeat:
I love my roommate! :-D

On a completely unrelated note, I think I want a new mood theme...
