I was so confused when I saw your request. Never had someone link in from Facebook.

As for sizing...it sucks that bras aren't really standard so you may need to try on different sizes. Is there a local store where you are where you can get measured?

Thank you for responding! :)

Sorry for the confusion. I dont actually have an LJ account but apparently you can link them together.

I have a problem with Victorias Secrets putting me in the wrong size. I have a Macys, jcpennys, and a Kohls somewhat nearby. I really like target brand, but they dont usually, if every carry 32D/32DD, or 30E. When I went to chicago for a day, I went to Intimacy bra fit stylists *which I recommend* They had me wear a 34C. The problem is that I measured and my band size, without adding or subtracting anything should be right at 30. The band on the 34C is too big and I need to go down a band size. I could try out Macys etc but im not big into trying on things unless my partners with me *I tend to just go off appearance and return it later, she knows how to look at fit better*. I may return to Intimacy but they cost 60-100 dollars per bra, and I also hope they cooperate with me in going down a band size, because thats what I need.

I checked it out and thought it was pretty cool.

Never let VS measure you. They'll always try to fit you in to 1 of their bras.
I measure at a 40 but feel more comfortable in a 38...so it all depends. Sometimes it is just trial and error in finding what fits.

I'm lucky that I had access to a store in Boston and now one in Memphis that caters to lager sizes.
The Boston store is online... www.ladygrace.com
I've found most websites are pretty good about exchanging bras.

I used to have good luck at Kohl's but I haven't much lately. At least the returns there are easy-peasy.

Thanks for your advice, both of you. I will be sure to take a look at Kohls. Last time I went they were extremely snotty/rude with me, and unfortunately I feel like thats how the dynamic of customer service *in retail stores* is,however coming from a job that pays little, I can feel the pinch too, and understand why employees are snippy *not a good way to get customers though*

So today I was told to try a 30E cup *Big suprise* by the butterfly collection. Anyone heard anything good or bad about them? On facebook they really seemed to care about me getting the right fit and I appreciate that. Also if given the choice of buying a bra at intimacy, or getting one online and possibly saving some money *but the risk is returning it* what would you do?

If you buy bras online, you will end up returning some. It takes a while to find both the size and the shape that feels good. Then, if you're lucky, after you've worn the bra a few months and are reasonably certain it is durable and still comfortable, you can order more of the same with some security--assuming that the model is still offered. However, some manufacturers have a lot of variability in the product, so there is still no guarantee that an individual bra will fit. This is of course assuming you want to stick with the same model and brand. There's variation in sizing and certainly shape between models, and even more between brands.

I know my size, but I still have to return close to 50% of the bras I order. The general rule is to never trust that a bra fits until you have actually tried it.

My advice is to look for a company with a good return policy, because it's a given that you'll return bras unless you're prepared to spend money on things you can't use.

Thank you. its such a shame most retailers dont stock certain sizes and people have to resort to buying online. I just emailed the Butterfly Collection a day ago with my measurements and we will see what happens with that, and what they recommend. I am probably going to end up buying 1 from them for their good service, then use that brand and size in the future if I like it.
